Causes

Microsporum canis (most common causative fungus)

Treatment

Antifungal medication (itraconazole)
Medicated baths
Thorough environmental decontamination

Prognosis

Cures in 4-8 weeks with proper treatment, but recurs if environmental decontamination is incomplete.
