Feline Infectious Peritonitis in Cats(FIP)
A fatal disease caused by mutation of feline coronavirus. Wet type causes fluid accumulation, dry type causes granulomas. Most common in young cats and multi-cat environments.

- Abdominal/chest fluid (wet type)
- Persistent fever
- Loss of appetite and weight loss
- Jaundice
- Neurological signs (dry type)

Prognosis
Once nearly 100% fatal, but new drugs like GS-441524 now offer hope of remission. Early treatment is key.

- Reduce stress in multi-cat environments
- Maintain clean litter boxes
- Quarantine new cats before introduction
