Vet Supervised

Symptoms

  • Abdominal/chest fluid (wet type)
  • Persistent fever
  • Loss of appetite and weight loss
  • Jaundice
  • Neurological signs (dry type)

Causes

  • Mutation of feline coronavirus
  • Weakened immune system
  • Stress (multi-cat environments)
  • Genetic predisposition

Diagnosis

1

Blood tests (hyperglobulinemia)

2

Fluid analysis

3

PCR testing

4

Tissue biopsy (definitive diagnosis)

Treatment

  • GS-441524 (antiviral)
  • Molnupiravir
  • Supportive care (fluids, anti-inflammatory)
  • Steroid therapy

Prognosis
